Who or what inspired you to get into music?
Rishab – It started with ‘what’ that got me into music . Ever since i was a kid , I used to love looking at my grandmother playing the sitar. Those melodic tunes really caught my attention and ever since then I’ve always wanted to try a musical instrument. But of course, I couldn’t try the sitar because the damn thing was five times my size. So a few years passed by, and I discovered the guitar. From that year on, I’ve been playing and loving that heavenly instrument. In fact, it’s the same instrument I use to write down the basic melodies I make in my songs today. For the ‘who’ part ,two artists from completely different genres , Guns ‘N’ Roses & David Guetta, inspired me.
Gautam – The person who inspired me to get into the EDM scene is Hardwell. He truly showed how much handwork can change a person’s life no matter what he or she does. Even if your music sounds bad – use it, it will get better – don’t ever throw yourself down.
When did you get into the EDM scene?
Rishab – Actually, Electronic Dance Music is quite recent to me in terms of the music genres I’m into. As a kid , I used to listen to a lot of Indian music , but I shifted towards alternative, rock , 90’s music and so on . It wasn’t until late 2011 when I found out about Dance Music. Ever since then, Dance Music has amazed me because it is so different from the other genres out there . So that’s when and why I got into Dance Music.
Gautam – I got into music at the age of 9 but it was only by the age of 15 did I came across EDM. Since then I’ve been hooked onto this genre and love the scene mainly because, it’s a growing industry and an EDM track expresses a lot of words, expressions and feelings.
What is something you will never forget that has happened in your career?
Rishab – To be honest , nothing huge has happened in my career yet. But something I’ll never forget was one time when I made it to the top 20 of a remix competition that had 848 contestants. It was a big deal for me because it was hosted by my favorite and one of the best , if not the best, dance music label out there – Revealed Recordings , owned by Hardwell , who you all know as the number one DJ in the world.
Gautam – That moment when Dannic (DJ/producer) and Amba shepard (song writer) supported my track ‘Rise again’. It was truly one of those moments that I will never forget and it obviously is the best thing to have happened.
Which track took the most time, how much?
Rishab – I usually spend a hell lot of time on one track because I want to perfect every single part of the song , so that I like what I hear, as well as hope that my fans like what they hear. Actually all my songs have taken almost the same amount of time with the exception of 2 or 3. I have a track called “Where We Are”, which features a talented singer going by the name, David Cantliffe. It took us about 6 months to make it sound really melodic , and for it to be a good hit for the dance floor. We spent a lot of time in the studios perfecting each other’s parts of the songs , which turned out to be great and maybe one of the best tracks I’ve done till now . You guys can expect it to be out by late October or maybe the first week of November , so you can stay tuned for that. Another track that took me really long was a track called ‘Impulse’ with a producer named ‘Dailee3’ which took us 9 months . To be honest, he (dailee3) is one of the most experimental producers I’ve ever met and I’m looking forward to making more music with him.
Gautam – My track ‘Rise again’ took the most time. The track was actually completed 14 days before the release date, but every time I listened to it, I kept adding on to it and thus it took about one and a half months.
What are your plans for the future?
Rishab – A lot for the future! I’m planning to start accepting more gigs by next year as I’ve been really busy with school and other stuff these years . And as usual, a ton of new music coming up . To be more open , I got 3-4 singles which are ready to be released , some on labels and others just on my channel. I’ve also been trying to finish my debut album, titled “Euphoria” which you can expect by mid or late 2016, so stay tuned ! Cheers !
Gautam – I wanna expand further, i want to be known more, as a Producer and as a DJ. I wanna work on bigger projects with bigger artists and just take on from there.
